Mistakes You Shouldn't Be Making

Being a parent is the most rewarding experience anyone can ever ask for.  However it is also one of the hardest things to do in life.  The lack of sleep, the constant worrying, those are just the tip of the iceberg.

The first thing to fully understand is that babies are tough!  Parents do not need to panic over anything and everything.  Babies will vomit, spit, crying, crying too little, crying too much, all these things are normal for babies.  It's part of his or her growth process.

Which leads us into our next point, let them cry!!!  They need to develop their voices and it's simply their job.  It doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong or anything of that sort.  It's simply how babies communicate.

One thing to note is, be aware of any fever the first 3 months that's over 100.4 degrees.  An infact's immune system is very important the first 3 months and precautions should be taken seriously during this time.

Babies are a lot of work, sometimes we tend to forget what is going on around us.  Do not neglect your spouse and marriage during this time.  Try to get family or friends who you can trust to take care of your baby for a night.  Try to go out on a dinner date no matter how tired you are.  A happy spouse relationship translates into a happier baby.

Another common mistake most parents do is listening to other people's advice.  Yes, they may have more experience than you if they have two kids already.  Just make sure you don't go to the wrong places for parenting advice.  Trust yourself, only you know your beloved ones best!

Does My Baby Have Sensitive Skin?

So the biggest questions most parents have regarding their baby's skin is, "How do I know if my baby has sensitive skin?"

It's quite simple to distinguish this.  If he or she gets rashes or dry skin quite frequently, you may need to take notes of this.  This is usually cause by certain soaps, lotions, detergents, bathing regimens, temperature and weather changes.  All these variables can lead to them having different reactions, and translate into sensitive skin.

The best way to isolate the problem is by using organic products, allergens-free products, etc.  This will help eliminate most of the problems already.  Bubble baths aren't always the greatest thing for babies, they look fun but terrible for their skin!

If an itchy, red rash appears anywhere on them, stop immediately using whatever products you may be using because this will harm his or her skin in the long run.

In short, the best solution to keep their skin super baby smooth is to use organic products that your pediatrician approves of (like Skincare Baby!) products.  Do not use detergent that has perfumes or dyes as that leads to irritation for not only babies but adults as well sometimes.

Also, if you are giving your babies a full bath everyday, it's not necessary at all  A full bath 2-3 times a week is plenty as long you keep their face, hands, and bottom cleaned everyday!

Skincare Baby Bath Tips

Bath time is fun for them, it's a special time where you are endlessly talking to them about anything and everything about your day or anything on your mind.

But keep in mind of these things!

The first thing is pretty obvious, never ever leave your baby out of your sight!  Not even a second.  Babies can easily drown in water.  If someone knocks on the door or the phone rings, take your baby with you.

Make sure the temperature in the bathroom is at a comfortable level.  Babies are small little creatures, so make sure it stays warm in there.  Some babies are super sensitive to heaters or air conditioning, so be careful with them.

Make sure the bathtub or baby tub, whatever it is that you're using is safe and sound.  You don't want your baby to slip or your hands to slip and baby's head goes against the wall or side of anything hard.

Don't let the baby stand on the tub, teach him or her to sit.

Try not to use bubble baths too much, unless it's organic.  Some bubble bath can be harmful to the baby's skin and can cause allergic reaction.

And last but not least, but keep electronics away from the water!

These are only a few tips, just be careful with your beloved!  And most importantly, have fun and enjoy giving him or her a bath with Skincare Baby Products!

Why Organic Products Are Worth It

Bringing another life into the world is not cheap.  Between the hospital bills, the crib, the toys, the clothes, and the DIAPERS!  It's almost impossible to not spend thousands of dollars before your baby turns 1.

5 Easy Tips to Maintaining Baby Skincare

1. Bath Time

First things first, newborns do not need to be bathe more than twice a week.  Maybe three times MAXIMUM, but anything over three times should be prevented.  Otherwise, baby wipes or sponge baths around the diaper area, mouth, and skin folds areas is greatly recommended by us.

2. Avoid Direct Sunlight

Humans are not meant to be in direct sunlight for long periods of time.  Babies do not need SPF.  Instead, they need to stay out of the sun as much as possible.  But if you must go outdoors with your baby, don't forget to bring a hat for him or her.  If possible, perhaps bring an umbrella for over the carriage, or anything of that sort to make sure no sunlight hits his or her skin.

3. Changing Diaper Often

Yes, diapers are crazy expensive!  However, baby's bottom is very precious!  It can really irritated a baby's skin if he or she is not treated properly.  Make sure you are using disposable wipes that are alcohol-free, fragrance-free, or if you can, use a cloth and water will be just fine as well.

Using diaper ointment will also keep their little bottoms from irritating them.  Because who wants to be uncomfortable right?!

4. Their Laundry

If you aren't already, make sure you are using detergent that's free of perfumes and dyes!  No fabric softener, read the labels very careful.  If your baby starts to develop any sort of rash, it may be because of the detergent you are using to wash his or her clothes.  If possible, the whole family should use detergent that's free of scent, and perfumes.  The best detergent for healthier skin are "free and clear" detergents.

5. Keep Skin Smoooooth

Everyone loves lotion, it keeps our bodies and hands smooth.  So why not do the same for your little ones?  Make sure you are using fragrance-free and ointment immediately after his or her bath to prevent their skin from drying.  Especially in the winter months, make sure to keep your baby moisturized as much as possible.  This would keep the baby happier which means less crying!
